Sheila Boger, age 57, of Garrison, went home to Jesus on Nov. 10, 2021, after a valiant battle with COVID. She was surrounded by her loving husband, her mom and five siblings. While this is the end of Sheila’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for Sheila. A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Garrison Church of God. Burial will be held in the spring at Vang Cemetery.

Sheila was born in Grafton on Aug. 17, 1964, to LeRoy and Evalon (Elton) Wiste of Adams. As a child she was active in 4-H, riding her horses and working with livestock, housework was just not her thing.

After graduating from Adams High School in 1982, she went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in social work at the University of Mary in 1988 and a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Dakota in 2010. Sheila loved social work and worked in the field for more than 30-plus years, her compassion for helping people was impressive and genuine. She worked in a variety of different locations in North Dakota and was most recently employed at CHI St. Alexius Health in Garrison as a licensed master social worker.

Sheila was blessed with one daughter – Brittany Marie Thill on Feb. 3, 1990, from a previous marriage. She later met and married Danny Boger on July 3, 2009. They lived in rural Garrison. Sheila will be remembered for the joy, warmth and beauty she brought to the Boger household. She had a zest for life that was incomparable, and she deeply loved her family. She had fought so many health battles in her life, yet she never viewed it as a negative. She loved her garden (especially her flowers) and was active in her church, Bible study, community events, crafts and traveling. She also loved her Norwegian family heritage and made absolutely amazing Norwegian breads and desserts.

She was always upbeat and ready for the next challenge. She was the most loving compassionate individual one could find— everyone loved her. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her and read her Bible daily.

Sheila joins her father, LeRoy, brothers-in-law, Sam Thiel and Ron Bjelland, both sets of grandparents and her parents-in-law in heaven. She is survived by many loving family members: her husband, Danny; her mother, Evalon of Adams; her daughter, Brittany of Grand Forks; her brothers, Tim (Cassie) of Fargo and Jason of Adams; her sisters, Susan Thiel of Minto, Sharyl (Loren) Shereck of Manvel and Angie (Ben) Pesek of Grand Forks; her brotherin law, Bill (Pam) Boger of Whitefish, Montana; sisterin law, Audrey Bjelland of Bismarck; numerous nieces and nephews; her beloved, dog Gracie; and her cats.
