Lorraine Dennis

Lorraine A. Dennis, 92, of Grand Forks and formerly of Walsh County, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.

Lorraine Ann Mager was born April 19, 1927, in Walsh County, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Polkwinziki) Mager. She was raised on the family farm and educated in Walsh County rural schools. Upon the completion of her education, she moved to Grand Forks and was employed as a waitress.

Lorraine married Harry Lepak on April 20, 1945, in Grand Forks. Harry preceded her in death. She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, and was employed as a seamstress. Lorraine married Howard Dennis on Jan. 12, 1966, in St. Paul. Howard preceded her in death on May 23, 1981, and Lorraine moved to Vancouver, Washington. Following her retirement in 1983, she returned to Grand Forks.

Lorraine was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. She enjoyed playing bingo, dice and cards. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Abraham Lepak, Vancouver, Donnie Lepak, Grand Forks, Wayne Lepak, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Rick Lepak, Vancouver; her daughters, Debra Lepak, Vancouver, Lana Lepak, The Dalles, Oregon, and Mona Rae Lepak, Grand Forks; sisters, Effie (Warren Kirkeby), Grand Forks, and Jeanette (Bill) Ekren, Grand Forks; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; her husbands, Harry and Howard; her sons, Darwin “Lee”, Garry, James and David; brothers, Henry, Harry, Joseph, Clarian, Florian, John, Leonard, Alfred, Fritz and Clarence; her sisters, Helen (Florian) Maszk, Evelyn (Robert) Buck and Irene (Roy) Peterson.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and 7 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.

Interment: 1 p.m. Friday, June, 7, in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
